An exciting and perturbing documentary about how politicians and businesses tries to persuade globala corporations to locate their aluminum production in Iceland. The aluminum industry is extremely energy consuming and the Icelanders offers huge amounts of environmentally friendly energy. The problem is just that the "green energy" means the damming of glacier rivers, submerging vast areas of nature. The issue is a controversial in Iceland and the film makes no pretense about its view that shortsighted greed and the traditional Icelandic fear of losing their independency has carried the day against a more long-term perspective of Iceland's natural resources. The film raises interesting questions about who really owns nature and how we share its assets in fairly and sustainably. Marit Kapla
